FAIR: Kris Kobach would be an Invaluable Asset to Trump Administration’s Immigration Team
Along with Jeff Sessions as attorney general and John Kelly at DHS, the addition of Kobach to a high level position within the administration would send a clear signal to the American people that the rule of law will be restored to our nation’s immigration system.

(December 15, 2016 — Washington, D.C.) — The following statement was issued by Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), in response to today’s meeting between President-elect Trump and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach.
“Today’s two-hour meeting between President-elect Trump and Kris Kobach is another encouraging sign that the incoming administration will fulfill its pledge to implement and enforce immigration laws that serve the public interest.
“The president-elect is assembling a strong team of highly qualified and knowledgeable individuals to fill key positions dealing with immigration. Along with Jeff Sessions as attorney general and John Kelly at DHS, the addition of Kobach to a high level position within the administration would send a clear signal to the American people that the rule of law will be restored to our nation’s immigration system.
“Kobach’s expertise in immigration law and policy is unmatched. His work at the Department of Justice during the period after 9/11, his commanding knowledge of immigration law, and his service to the people of Kansas would make him an invaluable asset as the new administration works to fulfill its promises of true immigration reform.”
