Fund the Wall!
The Federal Government has temporarily reopened even though President Trump did not secure the funding necessary for enhanced border security or his promised border wall. But the fight is not over!
To avoid yet another partial shutdown on February 15, a conference committee—compiled of a handful of members from the House and Senate—is meeting to negotiate funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for remainder of the fiscal year.
This could be our last chance to secure Congressional funding for the border wall and fix other real security issues for the next several years. It's time for Congress to stop the political games and address the current crisis by providing the necessary border wall funding requested by the White House.
Simply put, the American people do not have to accept a massive amnesty in exchange for improvements in immigration enforcement.
Any legislation that fails to provide the necessary funding or seeks to trade border wall funding for a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or Temporary Protective Status (TPS) amnesty is unacceptable.
